Football Recap: A.C. Flora Piles Up the Points Against Richland Northeast

A.C. Flora entered their tilt with Richland Northeast on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Cavaliers, posting a 49-10 win. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cavaliers, too.

Jalen Simmons was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 97 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, and also caught one touchdown. Another player making a difference was Roper Wentzky, who threw for 223 yards and three TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: A.C. Flora was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

A.C. Flora didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Isaiah Watson and Larry Pickett. Pickett has been hot recently, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last three times he's played.

A.C. Flora's record now sits at 7-1. As for Richland Northeast, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

A.C. Flora wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 48-0 victory against Dreher on the 17th. As for Richland Northeast, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on York at 7:30 p.m. on the 24th. The Cavaliers will be up against the Cougars' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
