Basketball Game Preview: Olentangy Berlin Bears vs. Medina Battling Bees

The Olentangy Berlin Bears and the Medina Battling Bees will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Olentangy Berlin is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Dublin Jerome just ended the team's five-game winning streak last Friday. They fell 48-36 to the Celtics. The contest marked the Bears' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite their loss, Olentangy Berlin saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Kelsey Grubbs, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 10 points and six rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Aubrey Bashore was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Medina won against Cleveland Heights on Saturday with 60 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Medina came out on top against Marysville by a score of 60-47. Given the Battling Bees' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 22nd, while the Monarchs are ranked 199th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory made it two in a row for Medina and bumps their season record up to 7-1. As for Olentangy Berlin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.
