Softball Recap: West Mesa Takes a Loss

If West Mesa was feeling good fresh off their 11-5 takedown of Rio Grande on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 18-0 to the Albuquerque Bulldogs on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

West Mesa saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mya Baca, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

West Mesa now has a losing record of 10-11. As for Albuquerque, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

West Mesa will challenge Los Lunas at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Mustangs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Albuquerque, they will take on Rio Grande at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
