Softball Recap: Pulaski Comes Up Short

Pulaski fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Bishop Ludden on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Gaelic Knights by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, the Blue Devils couldn't push the score so high this time.

Danicka Gilbert spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on ten hits and racked up 19 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Hayden Reynolds was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

The loss snapped Pulaski's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record. As for Bishop Ludden, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Pulaski will challenge Cato-Meridian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bishop Ludden, they will face off against Tully at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
