Basketball Recap: Stafford Piles Up the Points Against Caroline

Stafford waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Caroline Cavaliers 64-33. The Indians have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Stafford found their leader in freshman Olivia Ferguson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Ferguson has been hot, having posted eight or more boards the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Jenkins, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds.

Stafford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in three consecutive games.

Stafford's victory bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Caroline, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Stafford will be playing in front of their home fans against Colonial Forge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caroline, they will head out on the road to take on Eastern View at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
