Basketball Recap: Joshua Comes Up Short

Joshua's tournament run continued when they took on Westlake on Thursday. The Joshua Owls were dealt an 82-26 loss at the hands of the Westlake Chaparrals. The game marked the Owls' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Joshua and nudges their season record down to 11-11. As for Westlake, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Joshua will take on Mansfield Summit at 1:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Mansfield Summit will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Joshua surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westlake, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Rock Hill at 12:30 p.m. on Friday. Westlake knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Rock Hill likes a good challenge.
