Volleyball Game Preview: Albany Cougars vs. Washington Huskies

Albany has won seven straight games at home, while Washington has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Thursday. The Cougars will welcome the Huskies at 7:00 p.m.

Albany is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Encinal 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Cougars have posted since April 7th.

Albany wouldn't go down easily and took Encinal into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-20, 25-17, 26-28, 15-13.

Meanwhile, Washington beat St. Joseph Notre Dame 3-1 on Tuesday. The Huskies haven't had any issues with the Pilots recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Washington had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-16.

Washington's win bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Albany, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-14 record this season.
