Softball Recap: Klein Oak Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Klein Oak had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Klein Cain Hurricanes. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Riannah Boulanger looked comfortable as she tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Morgan Sanchez was incredible, firing off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in home runs. Another player making a difference was Sky Gonzalez, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Klein Oak pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Klein Cain, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Klein Oak will take on The Woodlands in a tournament on Thursday. As for Klein Cain, they will challenge Tomball Memorial at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
