Recap: Clewiston Tigers vs. Sebring Blue Streaks

The Clewiston Tigers have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 49-33 bruising from Sebring on Monday. Clewiston has struggled against Sebring recently, as their game on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Clewiston had strong showings from Milan Holomes, who scored 11 points along with five steals, and A"Aliyah Ventune, who scored six points. Holomes is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played.

Sebring found their leader in underclassman Molly Jane Zwayer, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zwayer has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Shamari Jones, who scored six points along with five assists and four steals.

Clewiston's loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-5. As for Sebring, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Clewiston won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Okeechobee at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Hopefully Clewiston focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Monday. As for Sebring, they will take on Southeast at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Southeast is coming into the matchup with four straight wins on the road, meaning Sebring will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
