Basketball Recap: New Braunfels Takes a Loss

New Braunfels lost against Wagner back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Unicorns had to suffer through a 73-16 loss at the hands of the Thunderbirds. The game marked the Unicorns' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Riley Lundegreen was New Braunfels' leading scorer, having posted seven points. Michelle Moore held things down on the boards with six rebounds.

Wagner got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nia McBride out in front who went 5-for-10 on her way to 13 points and five steals. McBride has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Elle Williams, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards.

New Braunfels' defeat dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Wagner, the win keeps them at an undefeated 18-0.

Looking ahead, New Braunfels will take on Navarro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Unicorns are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Wagner, they will face off against Pieper at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
