Fort Ann and Whitehall are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Cardinals are taking a road trip to take on the Railroaders at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Fort Ann nor Whitehall posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Fort Ann nor Salem made it on the board until the sixth inning. The Cardinals fell 4-0 to the Generals. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Cardinals were not able to get on the board.

Hunter Charpentier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

Meanwhile, Whitehall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Hartford Central, falling 14-1.

Whitehall's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Fort Ann, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Fort Ann beat Whitehall 6-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Railroaders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
