Ava waltzed into their game on Monday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over the Mountain Grove Panthers. That's more bragging rights for the Bears, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Hunter Strunk spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Hannah Forrest was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Autumn Cudworth, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.

Forrest wasn't the only one making solid contact: Ava kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Grove only managed six hits.

Ava pushed their record up to 9-2 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Mountain Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Ava will take on Willow Springs at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain Grove, they will face off against Plato at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
