Tift County extends home losing streak to three

Recap: Tift County Blue Devils vs. Houston County Bears

While it was all tied up 25-25 at halftime, the Tift County Blue Devils were not quite the Houston County Bears's equal in the second half on Friday. Tift County fell 57-45 to Houston County. Tift County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Houston County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Tift County still got an impressive performance from Malachi Evans, who scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Evans has scored all season. Corey Howard was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with seven rebounds.

Tift County's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 9-8. As for Houston County, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Tift County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westover at 7:30 p.m. Westover will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Houston County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northside at 5:30 p.m. on January 20th. Northside has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29.
