Preview: Dudley Panthers vs. Crest Chargers
Dudley has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Crest Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Dudley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 13 contests -- so hopefully Crest likes a good challenge.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Dudley had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the Bulldogs as they made off with a 50-28 victory. Fans of Dudley have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
It was another big night for Andrew Attmore II, who threw for 378 yards and eight touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per attempt. Attmore II hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Nasir Newkirk did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 126 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Crest put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They won a game that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by West Charlotte 30-29.
Crest got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ny?tavious Huskey out in front who threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Aiden Carson and his 85 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Crest's victory.
Dudley's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Crest, their victory bumped their record up to 13-0.
Keep an eye on the quarterbacks in this one, as both Dudley and Crest don't mess around when it comes to the passing game. Dudley has been excellent in the air this season, having averaged 294.6 passing yards per game. However, it's not like Crest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 275.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might be a classic QB duel. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
