Basketball Recap: Collinsville Comes Up Short

Collinsville lost against Jersey back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Collinsville Kahoks fell 53-42 to the Jersey Panthers. The Kahoks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jersey's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ella Smith, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Smith has posted since back in December of 2024. Meredith Gray was another key player, going 7-for-14 on her way to 18 points.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Jersey, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-13.

Collinsville has already played their next contest, a 66-29 loss against O'Fallon on the 11th. As for Jersey, they will venture away from home to face off against Waterloo at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Waterloo: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Jersey has snatched up four consecutive wins on the road.
