Colleton Prep Academy won the last time they faced Thomas Heyward Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The War Hawks blew past the Rebels 12-3. Considering the War Hawks have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaiden Kinard made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has become a key player for Colleton Prep Academy: the team is 5-2 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Kinard was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cale Owens, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Baines Pierce was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Colleton Prep Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Colleton Prep Academy moved to 9-7 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Colleton Prep Academy will square off against St. John's Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Cavaliers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the War Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Thomas Heyward Academy, they will take on Cross at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
