            Baseball Preview: Hopewell Vikings vs. Central Valley Warriors        
        
		
        
        
            The Hopewell Vikings will venture away from home to  square off against the Central Valley Warriors  at 4:00  p.m.  on Monday. Hopewell will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
On Wednesday, Hopewell beat Hampton 7-4.

 Kingston Krotec made a splash no matter where he played. He  pitched seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and one unearned) runs off   five  hits. He also  tossed a  walk, which is notable because Hopewell is 3-1 when he allows at  most  one  walk, but 2-8 otherwise. Krotec was also solid in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  he has posted since back in May of 2024.
 In other batting news,  James Armstrong was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with one  stolen base, two  RBI,  and one  run. Those  two  RBI gave  him a new career-high.
 Meanwhile, Central Valley suffered their biggest  defeat since March 17th on Friday. They lost  9-0 to Montour. The  contest marked the first time this year in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.
 The  victory was their first  at home , bumping their record up to 5-9. As for Central Valley, they now  have a losing record of 7-8.
 Hopewell couldn't quite finish off Central Valley in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 and fell  5-3. Can the Vikings avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
