Football Recap: Collins Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Collins can now relate to. They lost to the Amite County Trojans on the road by a 36-19 margin on Friday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2019.

Amite County was led to victory by Marquavius McGhee and Kemauri Thompson. McGhee rushed for 170 yards and a pair of TDs on only 15 carries, while Thompson rushed for 106 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. The dominant performance also gave McGhee a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).

Collins' loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Amite County, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-2.

Collins does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Amite County, they will be playing at home against Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
