Jacobs is 9-1 against Crystal Lake South since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Golden Eagles will look to defend their home field against the Gators at 4:30 p.m. Jacobs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Jacobs came up short against McHenry and fell 7-3. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jacobs saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Molly Hoch, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crystal Lake South, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against Cary-Grove by a score of 6-1 on Wednesday.

Lily Dittrich spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up ten Ks.

On the hitting side, Riley Sturm was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lily Cargill, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Jacobs now has a losing record of 15-16. As for Crystal Lake South, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-22.

Jacobs took their victory against Crystal Lake South in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 13-0 score. Will the Golden Eagles repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
