Basketball Recap: Katilyn Wanamaker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Dietrich over Carey

Dietrich lost against Carey back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dietrich Blue Devils fell to the Carey Panthers 46-42. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Katilyn Wanamaker, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine boards. Aleigha Robertson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Even though they lost, Dietrich smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Dietrich's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 4-6. As for Carey, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Dietrich wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-35 win against Hansen on the 9th. As for Carey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-33 victory against Richfield on the 9th.
