Softball Preview: Piedmont Bulldogs vs. Weaver Bearcats

Piedmont is 10-0 against Weaver since March of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Piedmont Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Weaver Bearcats at 5:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, everything went Piedmont's way against Wellborn as Piedmont made off with a 13-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Piedmont.

Meanwhile, Weaver scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Saks an 18-0 shutout. Winning may never get old, but Weaver sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Kynlee Fulmer made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Fulmer has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Fulmer was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI.

In other batting news, Jadyn Smith was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run, four RBI, and two runs. Anna Shrivinski was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Piedmont's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Weaver, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
