Basketball Recap: Estancia Takes a Loss

Estancia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss. They took a 51-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raton Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent defeat being a 63-48 loss back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Estancia lost, don't look at Justin Rubio. Despite the final result, he went 6-for-12 on his way to 12 points along with eight boards and six steals. Those six steals gave Rubio a new career-high.

Estancia's defeat dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Raton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-12 record this season.

Estancia does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Raton, they have already played their next game, a 79-40 loss against Pecos on the 27th.
