Wheeler waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Hammond Bishop Noll Warriors 9-3. The Bearcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Warriors, too.
Cadence Piunti made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 17 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Kennedy Hawkins was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Ashlynne Trinidad, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two doubles.
