Volleyball Recap: Westville's Run of Three Straight Victories Now Over

Westville lost against Whiting back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blackhawks took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Oilers. The Blackhawks' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Whiting scored at least 19 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 18-25, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Westville still got an impressive performance from Lydia Green, who had 13 digs and two assists. Another player making a difference was Emma Ross, who had eight digs and two aces.

Westville's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Whiting, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Westville will face off against East Chicago Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Whiting, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against River Forest on the 21st.
