While Southwest EC's win against La Quinta wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles skirted past the Blackhawks 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (100-96) Southwest EC actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-19, 13-25, 25-20, 15-11.

Kaydence Wiewel paced Southwest EC's offense, picking up 15 kills. Wiewel got some help from Kailani Hinshaw and her 16 assists. Wiewel was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

The victory got Southwest EC back to even at 2-2. As for La Quinta, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Coming up, Southwest EC will take on Mt. Carmel at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for La Quinta, they will square off against Indio at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
