If Cripple Creek-Victor wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Cotopaxi, they should've done a better job of containing Hayden Eggleston. The Cotopaxi Pirates really took it to the Cripple Creek-Victor Pioneers for the full four quarters, racking up a 44-17 victory for which the team can thank Eggleston, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted three or more steals the last 16 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Teter, who almost dropped a double-double with nine rebounds and nine blocks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in blocks.

Cotopaxi has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.2 points over those games. Cripple Creek-Victor dropped their record down to 5-15 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Cotopaxi will be taking part in a tournament against Rangely at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Rangely will roll in looking for their 22nd straight win, something Cotopaxi surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cripple Creek-Victor, they will head out to square off against Manzanola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
