Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Covenant Christian's offense. They fell 5-0 to the Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory Braves on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their meetings with the Braves: they've now lost three in a row.

Covenant Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Unger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Covenant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 15-11. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11.

Coming up, Covenant Christian will challenge Monrovia at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.86 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory, they will host Center Grove at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Braves surely won't give up without a fight.
