Baseball Recap: Gateway Takes a Loss

Gateway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-2 to the Galileo Lions. Gators fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Lions since on Tuesday.

Luca Velasquez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Gateway's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Galileo, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

While Gateway had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on March 18th.
