League recap: Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton extends winning streak with victory over Mohawk

Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton extended the longest winning streak in Section 3 Class C - South this week by beating Mohawk, 27-20. The victory was the fifth in a row for Morrisville-Eaton/Hamilton.

Waterville/Madison Central moved up to 375 from 440 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Indians were able to make move up by topping Little Falls 39-36.

Billy Steinmetz was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 204 yards on 19 carries as LaFayette/Fabius Pompey beat Birdlebough. Teammate Chris Mueller added to the ground attack by rushing for 13 yards.

Esposito was the best wideout in Section 3 Class C - South this week as the Lancers beat the Firebirds. Esposito racked up four receptions for 112 yards. Dan Gallagher helped LaFayette/Fabius Pompey's passing attack out by catching one ball for 42 yards.

Cody Marango put up the best numbers through the air as Sherburne-Earlville fell to Notre Dame/Catholic. He finished with six completions for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Marango's favorite target this week was Ben Khoury, who caught one pass for 39 yards.

LaFayette/Fabius Pompey's Greg Krienheder and Gallagher have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Krienheder has thrown for 630 yards this season, while Gallagher, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 15 catches for 415 yards. The Marauders' Devven Ferris leads the league in rushing yards with 777.

Waterville/Madison Central and the Mounties played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Waterville/Madison Central eventually emerging with a 39-36 victory.
