Softball Recap: Winthrop Takes a Loss

Winthrop lost against Mountain Valley back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Ramblers came up short against the Falcons, falling 20-10. Even if the Ramblers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Winthrop dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Mountain Valley, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-4 record.

Coming up, Winthrop will be playing at home against Mount View at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Telstar at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season.
