Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Churchill County). They blew past the Elko Indians 19-7 on Friday. The Greenwave haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Mason Storm looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
On the hitting side, Chase Carnahan was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trevor Hyde, who went 2-for-5 with three RBI.
Churchill County pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Elko, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-10.
