Basketball Recap: Cibola Comes Up Short

Cibola was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 59-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Browne Bruins. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bruins apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Browne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Desmynn Beavers-Smith, who posted 15 points and six boards. Beavers-Smith continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dee Shaw, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 13 points and five rebounds.

Cibola now has a losing record at 9-10. As for Browne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.

Cibola has already played their next contest (against Kofa), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Browne will challenge Maryvale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Maryvale will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Browne surely won't give up without a fight.
