Baseball Recap: Frisco Takes a Loss

Frisco and Reedy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Frisco had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Raccoons have suffered since March 9, 2024.

Dominic Floyd was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in March.

On the hitting side, Frisco saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Voris, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Voris has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Frisco is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 20-9. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Reedy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.

While Frisco had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
