Softball Recap: Greenfield Comes Up Short

Greenfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to the Jasper Eagles, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Greenfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Jasper, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Looking ahead, Greenfield will host Wheaton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheaton has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something Greenfield will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jasper, they will head out to take on Sarcoxie at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
