The Hilton Head Island Seahawks will welcome the Wilson Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hilton Head Island is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last nine games.
Hilton Head Island is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They blew past South Aiken 52-24. Given the Seahawks' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Thoroughbreds are ranked 117th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilton Head Island to victory, but perhaps none more so than Derrick Raniszewski, who threw for 271 yards and three TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 271 passing yards gave Raniszewski a new career-high. Thaddeus Czarnecki was in the mix as well, providing Hilton Head Island with three scores.
Hilton Head Island didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited South Aiken to a completion percentage of just 42.9%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from five players: Jayvin Risher, Jeremiah Walters, Justice Morris-Jones, Jeremy Garvin, and Louis Gadson, who each logged one passes deflected. Hilton Head Island has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.65 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.65 in their last three games.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wilson). They walked away with a 36-28 victory over May River on Friday.
Wilson's win came from a few key players Hilton Head Island will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Kayden Bethea, who rushed for 89 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries, and also picked up 67 receiving yards and one TD. Another rusher making a difference was Zyeir Lyde, who rushed for 120 yards and one score.
Hilton Head Island's record is now 10-1. As for Wilson, their record now sits at 7-4.
