Baseball Recap: Forest Bearcats vs. Greene County Wildcats

Forest extended their losing streak to nine on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 6-21 in the process. They lost 20-0 to the Greene County Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on Friday.

As for Greene County, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Greene County's part, Cam Pipkins looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Pipkins posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

At the plate, Greene County got a massive performance out of Eli Herring, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Herring has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Helton, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.

As of now, neither Forest nor Greene County have any future games scheduled.
