Basketball Recap: Seneca Piles Up the Points Against West-Oak

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Seneca). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 93-50 win over the West-Oak Warriors. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Seneca found their leader in sophomore Jack Webb, who went 8-for-14 to rack up 22 points and four steals. Webb also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 57%. Andre Seay was another key player, shooting 60% from the field on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Seneca smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 16 consecutive games dating back to last season.

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brett Winegard, who posted nine points. Winegard is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Trevor White, who had eight points and five rebounds.

Seneca's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for West-Oak, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Seneca has already played their next contest, an 85-51 loss against Wilson Academy on the 13th. As for West-Oak, they will head out on the road to take on Stephens County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
