Trey Rush Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, Grady got the W thanks in part to Trey Rush playing the best football he has all season. Rush rushed for 203 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and also picked up 63 receiving yards, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up two sacks, forcing two fumbles, and making 13 total tackles (5.0 for loss).

The victory (which was Grady's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. Rush's next game is against Floyd on Friday, where he'll look to repeat that solid effort.

Elida had to settle for second on Friday, but Cason Norman sure wasn't going down easily. Norman was dynamite, rushing for 220 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 12.2 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.

Elida's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-3. Norman and Elida will take on Dora at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Brycen Barnes Delivers Best Effort of Season

Brycen Barnes produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Roy/Mosquero to the win on Friday. Barnes rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns on only nine carries. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending two passes.

Floyd's probably not too fond of Barnes given he always seems to get the better of them. When Barnes last faced the Broncos back in September of 2023, he rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Big Game from Gonzalez-Lopez As New Mexico School for the Deaf Fell 58-26

While New Mexico School for the Deaf might've come up empty on Thursday, Alex Gonzalez-Lopez wasn't going down without a fight. Gonzalez-Lopez was dynamite, picking up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 84 yards on only ten carries.

New Mexico School for the Deaf dropped their record down to 2-4 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Gonzalez-Lopez and New Mexico School for the Deaf will challenge Arkansas School for the Deaf at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Deakin Ragland Makes It Two for Grady
