Soccer Recap: Progreso Takes Down Hidalgo in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Progreso walked away with it. They never let the Hidalgo Pirates get on the board and left with a 3-0 win on Tuesday. Considering Progreso have won 19 matches by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory keeps Progreso at an undefeated 30-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up nine goals over those 30 contests. As for Hidalgo, with the loss, they broke their 14-game winning streak and moved their record to 24-2-1.

Coming up, Progreso will take on Salado on Thursday. Salado will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Progreso surely won't give up without a fight. Hidalgo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
