Softball Game Preview: Attica Red Ramblers vs. Fountain Central Mustangs

Attica hasn't had much luck against Fountain Central recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Red Ramblers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Attica has given up an average of 11.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Attica is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 11-7 to Fountain Central.

For Fountain Central's part, Lillian Bennett was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. Bennett has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

In other batting news, Fountain Central got a massive performance out of Jacquelynn Weber, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits Weber has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mallory Massey, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Fountain Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Fountain Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Attica, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
