Baseball Recap: Sandia Finds Playoff Glory Versus Rio Rancho

It's playoff time, and Sandia had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Rio Rancho Rams by a score of 9-5 on Friday. For the Matadors, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2024.

Sandia pushed their record up to 22-8 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Rio Rancho, they moved to 23-7 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Sandia will take on Eldorado at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Golden Eagles will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Matadors surely won't give up without a fight. Rio Rancho does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
