Softball Game Preview: Nottingham Northstars vs. Delran Bears

The Nottingham Northstars will head out to take on the Delran Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Nottingham came out on top against Voorhees on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Northstars were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Vikings. The Northstars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Delran had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Raiders. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by just one run.

Olivia Powell spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gemma DeJoseph, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Colbie Aleszczyk, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Nottingham's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-9. As for Delran, their win bumped their record up to 17-8.
