Basketball Recap: University School of Milwaukee Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Brookfield Academy

University School of Milwaukee hadn't done well against Brookfield Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The University School of Milwaukee Wildcats put the hurt on the Brookfield Academy Blue Knights with a sharp 76-56 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Blue Knights are ranked 127th).

University School of Milwaukee has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 43.7 points. As for Brookfield Academy, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University School of Milwaukee will challenge Kenosha Christian Life at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. University School of Milwaukee is facing Kenosha Christian Life at the right time seeing as Kenosha Christian Life is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Brookfield Academy, they will square off against Lake Country Lutheran at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lake Country Lutheran knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 games -- so hopefully Brookfield Academy likes a good challenge.
