Volleyball Recap: Seton Falls to Northern Virginia Homeschool in First Game of Season

Seton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 3-1 to the Northern Virginia HomeSchool Centurions on Tuesday. The Conquistadors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Centurions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

While Seton ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 21-25, 25-17, 25-17.

Seton's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Clare Heiny, who had eight aces and three digs, and Monica Smith, who had nine digs, eight kills, and one block. Smith is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

The victory keeps Northern Virginia HomeSchool at an undefeated 4-0.

Seton has already played their next contest (against Trinity Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Northern Virginia HomeSchool, they will be playing at home against Front Royal HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
