Volleyball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Kansas City Christian School Panthers, falling 3-0.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The final score came out to 25-16, 26-24, 26-16.

Annie Eitzmann paced Lutheran's offense, picking up ten kills. Eitzmann got some help from Hailey Cochran and her 17 assists. Kate Mahnken controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 4-14-1. As for Kansas City Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 16-8-2.

Coming up, Lutheran will take on Heritage Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Kansas City Christian School, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 0-0 draw against Osawatomie on the 11th.
