Football Recap: Nevada Union Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brandon Mccallum and Rhyder Eelkema + How To Watch

After flying high against Christian Brothers last Friday, Nevada Union came back down to earth. The Miners came up short against the Casa Roble Rams on Friday, falling 39-14.

Rhyder Eelkema and Brandon McCallum certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Eelkema rushed for 148 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, while McCallum rushed for 138 yards and one score. Eelkema's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 131 rushing yards.

Casa Roble was led to victory by Jaylan Barcenas and Aidan Lopez. Barcenas gained 157 total yards and three touchdowns, while Lopez threw for 255 yards and a pair of TDs.

Nevada Union's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Casa Roble, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Nevada Union and Casa Roble will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Miners see the field they'll take on Antioch at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. As for Casa Roble, their break will end when they face Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th.
