Basketball Recap: L'anse Piles Up the Points Against Hancock

There's no place like home for L'Anse, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Hancock Bulldogs 73-21 on Thursday. While the Purple Hornets didn't have the best season last year (they finished 0-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Leading L'Anse to victory were Sam Lee and Keegan Davidson. Lee went 7 for 10 en route to 18 points and three steals, while Davidson went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points in addition to five assists and four steals. The contest was Lee's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Rodrigo Cotta was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

L'Anse pushed their record up to 6-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Hancock, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: L'Anse beat Hancock by a score of 60-35 on Friday.
