Baseball Recap: Flushing Comes Up Short

Flushing came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Beach Channel Dolphins, falling 13-2.

Adrian Hureta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Santana, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple.

Flushing's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Beach Channel, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Flushing will head out to take on Academy of American Studies at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Red Devils surely won't give up without a fight. As for Beach Channel, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Aviation at 4:00 p.m. on the 21st.
