Softball Game Preview: Wesclin Warriors vs. Nashville Hornets

The Wesclin Warriors will take on the Nashville Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Wesclin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Carlyle hit Wesclin with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell just short of the Indians/Lady Indians by a score of 6-4. The Warriors have struggled against the Indians/Lady Indians recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Wesclin saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maria Kahrhoff, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Nashville entered their tilt with O'Fallon on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They skirted past the Panthers 10-8. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wesclin's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Nashville, their win bumped their record up to 5-18.

Wesclin couldn't quite get it done against Nashville when the teams last played back in May of 2023 as they fell 10-6. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
