Baseball Recap: Pioneer Valley Regional Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Pioneer Valley Regional never let their opponents score on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Turners Falls Thunder. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex McClelland and Jackson Glazier were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, McClelland didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Glazier pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At the plate, McClelland got on base in all four of his plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one double, while Glazier went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI Glazier has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Evan Tsipenyuk was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Ethan Mauthe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Pioneer Valley Regional hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Turners Falls struck out ten times.

The win keeps Pioneer Valley Regional at an undefeated 9-0. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average this season. As for Turners Falls, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
